West Highland Dairy is based in the village of Achmore by Kyle of Lochalsh in the Scottish Highlands
Until recently our small flock of milking
sheep provided the dairy with
sheep milk. The cows' milk is purchased locally.
The milks are manufactured into a wide range of dairy products that include
cheese, yogurt, ice-cream, and creme fraiche. The cheeses include prize winning
blue and hard cheese as well as a range of soft cheeses and a bloomy rind
cheese.
Dairy training courses are an integral part of the business and can take place at the dairy or at your own premises. Courses are 'hands-on', with relevant theory to facilitate understanding. If required courses can be tailored to your specific requirements.
The Dairy also provides consultancy services, mainly product development, trouble-shooting and dairy skills training.
